1. Introduction

Computer plays an important role in our daily life. It is an electronic device, which makes human work an easy one. It can take any data as input, process them and give the required information as output. The major important features of computer are speed, storage, accuracy, automation and diligence. Due to the advancement of informational technology, the application of computer is not an exception in the field of educational system. After the introduction of multimedia, there was a tremendous change particularly in the field of education. It allows the learners to interact with the computer. With multimedia, a number of CALT packages were developed. Apart from these learning packages, there is online teaching also.

2. Advantages of Online Writing Teaching

2.1 Help to improve quantity and quality of language input and output

Multi?鄄media computer and net provide students plenty sources to learn. This assures data to be input. Such software has many advantages: vivid and lively showing connection among things and stimulate interest. Computers create better environment to do language output, which is helpful to purposely learning. Computers can be used to repeat information many times, so students can practice many times too. Such practice will help improve listening and speaking level. After listening and imitating voice or videos some times, student can repeat what they see or listen, knowing the difference between his and material and do more practice about unsuccessful part. Test with computer assistance system is convenient and scientific and is helpful for students?蒺 knowing his problems and make correction later. In college English teaching, computer brings an utter means of language input both in quantity or quality. Meanwhile, with the guidance of computer, learners will output more information.

2.2 Satisfy different needs of student, help to realize individual education

College students are from different areas and have their majors. They have great difference and ability in English learning. About this, traditional teaching cannot cope with individual difference, but computer has its specialties to fulfill task. It can provide more opportunities and freedom to students to choose suitable contents, methods, time and place. Those with better foundation may select hard part to learn; those who are inferior may select easy part. This will help those who are introvert and inactive in classroom, most of them will become active and take part in discussion. So their level will be improved greatly.

Compared with traditional teaching method, teaching with computer is more flexible. By net, students have their independence and responsibility. They must choose curriculum and datum according to their own needs and ability; choose means to finish task; try to communicate with teachers. Teachers will know more about students and decide what should be done next step. In short, new model pays great attention to individualism.

3. Important Issues in Online Writing Teaching

While computer provides great help to College English teaching, there is a high demand for teachers and students. There are several tasks we must do if we want to improve English teaching.

3.1 Role change of teachers

During Online Language Teaching, teachers need to play many roles: constructor for student knowledge, researcher of Net Teaching, system administrator, organizer, designer of curriculum and supervisor in process. We can say teacher is not being replaced by computer. Teachers?蒺 functions are not lessoned but strengthened. For a long time, however, our English teaching centers on classroom and teacher while teacher centers on textbook. All of this impacts effects on English teaching. For some classes, before new model, teachers talk and students listen; but now, computers talk and students listen.

3.2 Development of students?蒺 ability

Constructionlism believes student is the center of teaching. But because of traditional model, many of them are short of ability to learn by themselves. After coming into net, they have no idea about what to do next and even regard net as game. Some of them are inactive and receive information without understanding.

3.3 Construction of teaching sources

Sources include hardware and software. Hardware is a sump of all equipment which make communication come true, including multi?鄄media classroom, computer room, online question?鄄answer room and video; software includes applied software, multi?鄄media software and so on.

In our revolution, government should put more money to buy more equipment and facilities needed in teaching. One issue we face now is there is no superior software. Developing such ware involves familiar with teaching regulations and grasping technology of innovation. Although much software is developed by some advanced companies, they cannot fully satisfy the needs from all colleges and students. If government and our college provide enough money to equipment and teacher training, teachers can produce proper software for students. So our college should think about it carefully and decide a suitable plan to make sure Online Language Teaching going smoothly.
