Dingxi is carrying out ten action plans for the industrial sector in a bid to propel the development of the aluminum industry, which has become the No. 1 leading industry in Dingxi’s industrial economy. With annual output value of more than 6 billion yuan, the aluminum industry takes up 40% in the city’s gross industrial output value.

Dingxi strives to make breakthroughs in large projects to promote the aluminum industry. By leveraging its advantages as a traditional highenergy industrial base, it supports production capacity expansion and aluminum-electricity projects carried out by Northwest Aluminum,Dongxing Aluminum and Lintao Aluminum, to expand production. At present, there are four aluminum smelting and processing enterprises in Dingxi, with an annual production capacity of 680,000 tons. In the aluminum industry,main products are in 14 categories of deep processing products including electrolytic aluminum and aluminum-alloy pipes. There are more than 90 kinds of alloys and nearly 10,000 specifications. Through several years’ development, Dingxi now holds advantages in this industry in the province and even the country at large.

It is learned that Dingxi will redouble efforts to foster aluminum deep processing products for the construction, decoration, packaging, printing, electronics and power industries, focusing on high-grade, precision and advanced aluminum plate strip and foil rolling products. It actively introduce upstream and downstream enterprises dedicated to secondary aluminum,aluminum products, aluminum die casting,aluminum wire, logistics and transportation, as well as enterprises in supporting industries. The city aims to bring its aluminum smelting and processing capacity to 2 million tons by the end of the 12th five-year plan period. The city’s output value of aluminum smelting and processing is expected to reach 60 billion yuan.Dingxi will become the largest aluminum processing base in the province and even the northwest region of China.
