Two travelling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a rich family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the guestroom （客房）. Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement （地下室）. As they made their bed， the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.

兩個(gè)旅行中的天使到一個(gè)富有的家庭借宿。這家人對他們并不友好，并且拒絕讓他們在客房過夜，而是在冰冷的地下室給他們找了一個(gè)角落。當(dāng)他們鋪床時(shí)，年長的天使發(fā)現(xiàn)墻上有一個(gè)洞，就把它修補(bǔ)好了。

The next night they came to rest at the house of a poor family. The farmer and his wife were very hospitable （熱情好客的）. After sharing the little food they had， the couple let the angels sleep in their bed. On the next morning， the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow was dead. The younger angel was very angry and asked the older angel， “How could you let this happen？ The first man had everything， yet you helped him. The second family had little but was willing to share everything， and you let the cow die.”

第二晚，兩人又到了一個(gè)非常貧窮的農(nóng)家借宿。主人夫婦倆對他們非常熱情，把僅有的一點(diǎn)點(diǎn)食物拿出來款待客人，然后又讓出自己的床鋪給兩個(gè)天使。第二天一早，兩個(gè)天使發(fā)現(xiàn)農(nóng)夫和他的妻子在哭泣——他們唯一的一頭奶牛死了。年輕的天使非常憤怒，他質(zhì)問年長的天使：“你怎么能讓這樣的事情發(fā)生呢？第一個(gè)家庭什么都有，你卻幫助他們修補(bǔ)墻洞。第二個(gè)家庭盡管如此貧窮但愿意分享他們的一切，而你卻讓奶牛死了?！?/p>

“Things aren’t always what they seem，” the older angel replied. “When we stayed in the basement， I noticed there was gold in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was unwilling to share his good fortune， I sealed the wall so he wouldn’t find it. Then last night as we slept in the farmer’s bed， the angel of death came for the farmer’s wife. I gave him the cow instead.”

“有些事并不像看上去的那樣?！蹦觊L的天使答道，“當(dāng)我們在地下室過夜時(shí)，我從墻洞看到墻里面有金子。因?yàn)橹魅瞬辉敢夥窒硭呢?cái)富，所以我把墻洞填上了不讓他發(fā)現(xiàn)金子。昨天晚上，死亡之神來召喚農(nóng)夫的妻子，我讓奶牛代替了她?！?/p>

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don’t turn out the way they should. If you have faith （信念）， you just need to trust that your effort will pay off. You might not know it until some time later...

有些時(shí)候事情的表面并不是它實(shí)際應(yīng)該的樣子。如果你有信念，你只需要堅(jiān)信付出總會得到回報(bào)。但你可能直到后來才會發(fā)現(xiàn)這一點(diǎn)……
