Shangri-la Pulang Super Large Copper Mine Identified 6.50 Million tonnes of Copper Resource Reserve

According to news from the Geological Prospecting Working Conference of Yunnan Provincial Government,at present it has identified that there are up to 6.5 million tonnes of copper resource reserve inside the Pulang Copper Mine Consolidated Zone in Shangri-la County.The whole region includes one super large ore deposit in Pulang,two large ore deposits in Hongshan and Xuejiping,8 medium sized ore deposits in Chundu and Lannitang; this area will become an important copper resource base,the potential evaluation of copper resource is estimated at 18.45 million tons,it is expected the prospective copper resources can reach above 10 million tonnes,speeding up the progress of mine search will help ease the shortage in copper resource in China and in Yunnan Province.Judging from this time's identified ore deposit of super large copper mine,Yunnan's aggregate copper resource will surpass Jiangxi to rank second nationwide,only next to Tibet.

It has been learned that during the “Eleventh Five Year Plan” period,Yunnan Province has invested 5.8 billion yuan in geological prospecting,the accumulated identified resource volumes are respectively: 4,450,000,000 tonnes of coal,200,000,000 tonnes of iron ore,3,060,000 tonnes of copper,6,110,000 tonnes of lead and zinc,350,000 tonnes of tin,127 tonnes of gold,8,110,000 tonnes of manganese,180,000 tonnes of tungsten,40,000,000 tonnes of bauxite; a batch of new mineral resource prospecting and development bases have taken shape.At present,the nonferrous metal reserve of Yunnan Province ranks top among provinces in western China,among the 92 mineral ores whose reserves have been identified,45 kinds rank top 5 nationwide,its per capita mineral resource value is more than twice that of national per capita volume.
