On January 23, 2010, Tian Jian queued up overnight to buy her daughter a ticket to see the film Avatar.Though the movie had been released several weeks earlier, Tian needed to book the ticket for the IMAX 3D version one week in advance. During the winter movie-going season, more than 50 films are scheduled for release in China over a 90-day period that includes Christmas, New Year's Day, the Spring Festival and Valentine's Day.
